Take me away from the ball game

Last night, Diane and I took her parents to see a Salt Lake Bees game.  That's minor league baseball - or if you can imagine - an even more boring version of stick & ball.  We lasted 5 innings before I ran out of inappropriate baseball jokes and left.

Explaining baseball to Diane is hard enough - then she had to translate to Chinese for her parents.  I was trying to explain what a forced run was, or how come the guy on second didn't get out when the batter only got to first and he didn't run anywhere.  It was then that I realized the only way to learn baseball is as a kid, playing mario baseball, on the old NES at your friend's house.

Of course as we were leaving early, the home team decided to hit two home runs in a row. Nice try, Bees, but you didn't fool me.  Although on the way out of the stadium, we did give our kickass seats to some excited youths. Whatever keeps 'em off my lawn, you know?

Today, the two in-laws are going to the zoo with my mom and sister.  They won't understand a word between each other, but I'm sure they're having fun. They got up early to catch the bird show, whatever that is.
