Saturday afternoon, Diane's parents landed.
We were a little freaked out when every other person from their flight came through, got their baggage, and left. We thought they had missed their transfer in Seattle.
But we eventually found them in the SLC airport and took them home.
Saturday evening, they unpacked and settled into the second bedroom. Then we went shopping at Smith's and bought a metric ton of groceries. I cooked steak and potatoes for dinner.
Sunday morning, we got up and went to the U of U campus. They saw my office and we walked around. Her dad commented, "It would be impossible to NOT study hard in such a beautiful environment."
Then we went to the Utah Art Festival. We didn't see much art that we enjoyed - way too many photographers, not nearly enough blown glass for our taste. But we got to see some very interesting individuals, which was the goal for Diane's parents.
Then we went up City Creek Canyon for a BBQ with my big family. Everyone except Allen was there. Her parents had a great time talking to each of my little nephews. Diane's dad even taught Sawyer some charades. We went home exhausted right around sunset.
This week, we're swamped:
Monday night, getting ready for our long road trip to Vegas/L.A.
Tuesday night, Salt Lake Bees game
Wednesday night, I have class
Thursday night, Diane's company is hosting a dinner party
Friday night, pack and get ready to leave Saturday morning.
Should be fun!
